Happy Shack Beach And Wooden Huts

Beautiful beachside resort with a lovely ambience, amazing food, and extremely friendly staff.We truly had an amazing visit.

Just perfect wooden huts! You go down several stairs and here it is - the soft white sand and warm waters of the ocean in surroundings of palm trees. The huts are clean and cozy with own bathrooms and tremendous beds. There is a restaurant faced the beach with delicious food. The owner and his family are amazingly hospitable, speak really good English and always willing to help. Great place!

Perfect location, right on the beautiful beach. Great food in restaurant. Very much needed air conditioned cabin.

There seems to be no communication between the management. We were told we could store our luggage, have a shower and check out later by one of the sons. We were told by him we could leave our cases in one of the 2 rooms we had booked for the week. We checked out of the other room in good time and left all our luggage in the other room as instructed. When we did check out and were about to leave the father demanded we pay 1500 for late check out. We explained we had asked his son and had been told it was ok. He started getting very aggressive and saying we should have asked. We explained we had asked his son who told us it was ok. His son stood there very sheepish and didn't back us up. We didnt pay the extra money and told them there was a problem with communication within the management. After a great week and talking about booking Happy Shacks for next year we left in a rush telling him he had ruined our stay and that we hadn't believed some of the reviews we had read prior to our stay. But it seemed they were true. We will NOT be returning next year to these cabins but will hopefully return to the next door cabins which look stunning. The location is fabulous and there are plenty of other shacks along that stretch of beach.

Tough one! Our AC was not cold for the first few days. Finally we complained and it was fixed immediately!

Rafique is probably one of the best chefs i have had food with. The food was all 7 star. I cannot forget the taste of fish Tikka and cafreal. It was marvelous. The family and support staff were very kind and obliged to all your request. The location is fantastic and food amazing. If you visit goa, go to happy shack.

When you are on vacation and in such a fantastic location with great food, even somethings not to your expectations are disregarded.

Location is good. Can enjoy the sea view and sunsets. Very clean beach and less crowded. Totally worth it.

Everything was good

Great little chalets in a garden setting right behind the charming restaurant with a terrace overlooking the stunning beach. Could sleep to the sound of the waves. Run by a very nice family who were very helpful.

Need to use app to find it but that is because it is in a quieter stretch of the beach.

It's family run, and the people seem like nice human beings.The bed was comfortable, which was one of the few highlights.The hotel accepts cash payments in dollars, which is convenient for travelers.Great laundry service at a good price.After some negotiation, I did receive a small discount on my bill.They eventually cleaned my room after I pointed out the issues.

Long wait with no updates: I arrived to find my room unavailable and had to wait an hour and a half with no communication aside from "5 minutes, seat down", no offer for food or drinks beside some water from the waiter who just started there. Staff had no idea what was happening (or pretended not to), and the managers were nowhere to be found, i even tried calling. The owner eventually appeared and blamed the delay on an elderly guest checking out ever so slowly—at 9 PM, which seemed like a weak excuse.Poor standards: When I finally got to my small bungalow, I noticed the trash hadn’t been emptied, and the floors were dirty. When I raised this issue, I was met with a dismissive "no problem," as if it wasn't an issue at all. The room was subsequently cleaned while I was there.Minimal room amenities: Mainly just a bed and side table. There is no light for reading, only the main one. While the room had a kettle, it lacked basics like tea, mugs, or any other provisions. This felt careless..Misleading promises about a discount: Throughout my stay, I was repeatedly assured I would get the “best discount."” But when it came time to check out, nothing was applied until I pushed for it. The staff laughed as if they had no idea what I was talking about, and after multiple rounds of negotiation, they deducted 1,500 to the 8,500 room fees for 2 days.Cash-only policy with no clear notice: They do not accept card payments, which wasn’t made clear upfront. The costs add up quickly, so be prepared to pay in cash only. breakfast was disappointing: : My poached eggs were overcooked (essentially hard-boiled), no suggestionsmade when i pointed this out. While the fried eggs were better, I ended up eating next door at The White Crab, which was significantly better.Final VerdictThis hotel was a frustrating experience with lack of professionalism. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Awesome place. Rafiq & family took real good care of the guests. Checked out today and am already planning my return trip.

Best Beach ever. Stay away from Colva City. Come to happy Shack and enjoy.

Very familiar, helpful in any ways. Fresh and healthy food served. The Family and the dogs Are amzazing… love it!

The location of this property was fantastic and there were 2 brothers who worked or owned the place who were excellent and couldn’t do enough to help and the rooms were clean.

This place was very difficult to find as there are no signs to indicate where the hotel is. The plug sockets were high up making charging difficult and the bedrooms were very bare, could have done with some furniture such as bedside tables. The showers did not have any hot water. We ordered food and requested non spicy chicken, we waited an hour for this and it came out spicy.

Food is very good. Excellent position, quiet spot. Friendly staff.

Shower pressure and heat is not good. WiFi intermittent. No cleaning or towels etc in the four nights we stayed.

A gem of a location, felt unspoilt and peaceful yet accessible to everywhere if wanting to go somewhere busier. Really wonderful family run place, fantastic food, lovely staff and beautiful gardens.

Management,RoomsI did not get my check in even though i booked it in advance using the booking.com I still faced the problem because the location is near the beach.We don't have any option apart from agreeing with the owner because they dont take any advance while booking so they can modify or cancel anytime our booking.Its only good for foreigners not for Indian. I waited there for 3 hours They gave my booked room to someone else on an hourly basis because i reached there late but i had a word with him that I will be reached by this time but still faced the problem.. The AC was not working properly in the day time.I have paid the GST tax but they refused to give me an invoice. Because they don't have a registration number but still they ask for taxes. However the food is good ,tasty and at a good price.

Everything was fabulous. From the minute we arrived, to the minute we left, everything was great. The beach huts are really good, spacious, clean and comfortable with a/C and fan. The restaurant food is all delicious and excellent value for money. The staff were all very friendly helpful and kind, some speak great English too, and the location on the quiet, wide, sandy beach is superb. It is absolutely wonderful for a relaxed time at the sea.

There was nothing we did not like. The staff were helpful and one took me on his motorbike to the ATM in Benaulim. I have read some bad reviews but they must be mistaken! I suppose I could say, we could have a kettle in the room, but there's no point when there's tea, coffee and lots of other drinks just a few yards away, in the shade, overlooking the beach and sea!

Property is just in front of Sernabatim beach.Neat and clean beach

Excess to the property is very poor.Need improvement. During rains lots of water logging difficult to reach at the property .No arrangement of kettle tea coffee stuff
